Melloney's journey is a remarkable testament to the influence of education and the significance of scholarships. She was born in Brunei to Filipino parents who sought a better life there. However, following the unexpected death of her father, Melloney and her mother had to return to Surigao City, one of the most economically disadvantaged provinces of the Philippines.

Melloney's mother, a paragon of strength and resilience, instilled in her daughter the values of perseverance and determination. These qualities became Melloney's guiding principles when she faced another tragedy at the age of 17, finding herself orphaned and without a home.

Empowered by her mother's teachings, Melloney pursued higher education with unwavering determination. She earned her master's degree in Applied Mathematical Finance and achieved her CFA Charter. She embarked on her professional journey at a FinTech firm, specialising in financial literacy and inclusion. Her dedication and hard work led her to become a manager at Bain & Company's advanced analytics groups, a testament to her intelligence and ambition.

"Life-changing scholarships truly begin with you." - Melloney Daye F. Awit MBA'23J, IAF Women’s Scholarship recipient.

Ready to unlock her full potential and elevate her career, Melloney's dream came to life with a scholarship that paved her path to the INSEAD MBA programme.  The impact of the scholarship on Melloney's life has been profound. Immersed in the INSEAD MBA programme, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery and professional growth. Beyond providing access to a world-class education, the scholarship connected her with invaluable networks and experiences she once thought were beyond her reach.

As a proud recipient of the IAF Women’s Scholarship, Melloney is both honoured and grateful to have been selected from a pool of remarkable candidates. Her scholarship is also a tribute to her mother’s legacy and her belief in the immeasurable potential of women. She is committed to paying forward the generosity that guided her path. Melloney envisions her scholarship's influence extending far beyond herself, with a particular focus on her native Philippines, where she aims to apply her newfound expertise to drive positive change.

Melloney's story is one of the many exceptional journeys undertaken by INSEAD students, made possible by the generosity of donors. Her experience is a testament to the transformative power of scholarships on students' lives. By investing in future scholars, donors affirm INSEAD's dedication to diversity and global perspectives, enriching the classroom experience for all.
