David Kitterick MBA’08D owes his INSEAD experience to the generosity of his father-in-law. Realizing the potential of an MBA to advance his career, he was urged to consider INSEAD by an alum. Drawn by the institution's global outlook, he soon faced the challenge of funding his education.

"I then looked around to see how I could actually fund it, and it was basically impossible. Luckily, my father-in-law was prepared to lend me some of the money," David recounted gratefully.

INSEAD not only broadened David's horizons but also nurtured a global mindset that has significantly enriched his career. He recognizes the transformative power of education, saying, "INSEAD means a lot to me because it gave me a chance to elevate my career and also helped me grow as a person. It certainly exposed the weaknesses and the personal flaws that I have!"

Over the years he has been inspired to become more actively involved and connected with the school and its alumni community." I am much more likely to attend something now than I was maybe four or five years ago," David admitted. "I come back twice a year and I interact quite a lot with faculty and the student body."

David's journey as an INSEAD donor really took shape when the COVID-19 pandemic began to take its toll on the school. Recognizing the critical need for support during challenging times, he and his wife, Christina, decided to step up and make a difference through their contributions and the establishment of the Gervais Kitterick Diversity Scholarship Fund.

"This is one of the best things I've done if I am being honest."

He stressed the importance of giving back, stating, "I've always had this profound sense that your contributions create a legacy, one that you can witness when you return." David emphasized that contributions need not be large to make a significant impact: "the simple way to do it is by contributing money. And it doesn't have to be huge amounts to make a real difference."

Through his contributions to INSEAD, David supports individuals whose aspirations may be constrained by financial limitations, just as he once was. His story serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of inspiring others to dream big. As David eloquently put it, "This is one of the best things I've done if I am being honest."
