Hugo van Berckel Award for Social Impact

The Hugo van Berckel Award for Social Impact was awarded for the first time this year to the winning team during the Master Strategist Day. MBA students, competing in teams, were tasked with analysing two natural areas in Malawi under the jurisdiction of the Peace Parks Foundation: the Nyika National Park and Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve.

They explored strategies for achieving financial sustainability while preserving the areas’ nature, biodiversity and ecosystems. The Award was created thanks to the generous support of the classmates, family and friends of Hugo van Berckel MBA’89D as a lasting and meaningful tribute to a man who cared deeply about responsible and sustainable business.
