Dean’s Fund - Giving Where it Matters Most

Roland Stapper and Jessica Macias, both MBA’06J, are loyal donors to the Dean’s Fund and other initiatives and have given every year since 2008. Roland also volunteered for the INSEAD Alumni Association (IAA) and formerly served as Vice President of the IAA Executive Committee.

“We believe in the narrative that business is a force for good, and that INSEAD contributes to business growth and business success. We made a conscious decision to make a habit out of giving and to donate a percentage of income annually. INSEAD is close to our hearts and has a prime spot on our list of causes.”

The Dean’s Fund is the heart of the INSEAD Fund, the philanthropic force that keeps INSEAD excellent, agile and responsive. Powered by unrestricted gifts from donors across the INSEAD community and around the world, this vital resource covers immediate needs that cannot be met by INSEAD's main revenue sources of tuition and programme fees. The Dean’s Fund is vital to every aspect of INSEAD’s mission — and particularly important for an independent, non-profit school that receives no support from dividends, shareholders or an affiliated university.

The Dean’s Fund is especially relevant when global forces — conflict, climate change, inflation — reshape what the world needs from INSEAD. Gifts to the Dean’s Fund were instrumental in maintaining INSEAD’s €6.5 million scholarship budget, critical for MBA and MIM students experiencing financial hardship in exceptionally challenging times. Because our community united behind the Dean’s Fund, INSEAD also had the resources to launch cutting-edge research on timely topics and to finance transformative learning experiences.

Strong support during the year shows that our community understands the urgency and the impact of unrestricted giving to the Dean’s Fund.
